Every single time MAC releases a new limited edition my
heart races. I’ve always been a huge lover of MAC makeup, and I can never
resist a limited edition item. What makes it even more exciting is when there’s
limited edition packaging! In the past few weeks MAC released a couple of
limited edition collections that have sent the beauty world crazy.
The first collection that caught my eye, and every other
beauty lovers, is the Cinderella
collection. As soon as I hear about the
upcoming release of this collection I knew that I had to have something from
it, I mean Disney and MAC are two of the things I love the most so anything
they’ve collaborated on has me instantly hooked. I’ve heard a few people complain about the packaging and
said that it’s boring but I think quite the opposite. To me the pale blue
almost metallic packaging the collection comes in captures Cinderella perfectly
and makes me instantly think of the gorgeous blue dress Cinderella wears. I also
LOVE the gold accents throughout the packaging as It makes it seem even more princess
like. As there were only two lipsticks released in the collection I decided to
pick them both up. Both lipsticks are lustre formulas, and although it’s not my
favourite, I find them great for everyday wear.
Free as a butterfly is described as a “semi-sheer golden nude” in all honesty when I swatched this lipstick I wasn’t impressed, it looked very sheer and like it would wash me out. However when I tried it on my lips I was pleasantly surprised. Because it is on the sheerer side it just gives an effortless, nude glossy finish to the lips that’s perfect to just throw on with any look. Royal ball is described as a “fleshy pink” this lipstick really is the colour I imagine a princess would wear. It’s a beautiful nude pink colour with a lovely sheen finish. After swatching I realised that MAC’s Hue is almost an exact dupe it’s just a slight bit pinker, so if you like this colour but missed out on this collection I’d give it a try. Unfortunately all of the Cinderella collection sold out within two hours of being released so neither of these are available any more.

L/R Barbecue, Victoriana |
Although there were loads of gorgeous things to choose from including some beautiful ombre blushes, it was the lipsticks that really caught my eye *no surprises there* Although one of the colours I wanted was already sold out I did manage to pick up two lipsticks in the colours Barbecue and Victoriana.
Barbecue is described as a “vivid orange red” as soon as I saw this lipstick I knew it would be the perfect spring summer colour for when I wanted a really bold lip that wasn’t quite your classic red.
Victoriana is described as a “midtone pink red” although when swatching I can definitely see the pink undertones, once on my lips this colour pulls as a classic pillar box red which is really easy to pull off and super flattering.
Both lipsticks are a matte finish, however they’re a lot creamier than other matte lipsticks from matte and seem to glide on without being the slightest bit drying. At the moment you can still get both lipsticks from MAC’s website for £17.
