Yes
it’s just been Christmas, and I know I probably definitely shouldn’t have
bought any more makeup as about 90% of my Christmas presents were beauty items,
but what can I say I love buying pretty new things and I have about 0% impulse
control. Recently I went to Nottingham with my mum for the day to do a bit of
shopping and I couldn’t not go into the MAC store, that’d be rude wouldn’t it?
So while I was there I decided to pick up a few things that I’ve been lusting
after for ages and treat myself.
The only MAC foundation I’ve ever tried is their Studio Sculpt foundation which I really like, but the lightest shade they do in it is NC15 which believe it or not is actually a tad too dark for me. I’ve heard some great things, and some awful things about the Studio Fix Foundation (£21.50) but I really wanted to try it so I decided to pick it up in NW13. First of all the colour match is a lot better for me, I had been worried about it sticking to my dry patches like crazy as it’s a pretty full coverage but so far I’ve had no problems and I’ve been really impressed with it.
For Christmas I got a lot of new eye shadows and recently my eyes have been extra veiny and discoloured (blame pregnancy and awful nights sleep) so I’ve been on the lookout for a good primer/base that would make my shadows last all day long but also cover up everything that needs covering up. Everyone and their mum goes on about MAC Paint Pots (£15.50) so I thought it was about time I got my hands on one and gave it a shot. The two most popular colours are Soft Ochre and Painterly. I decided to go for painterly as it is more pink based, soft ochre would’ve looked way too yellow on me. I can honestly say that it’s worth the hype! I really am in love with how it neutralises any discolouration on my eyes, makes my eye shadow last all day and generally look better and more pigmented. So far I’ve been using this base every day since I got it!
The final thing I decided to buy was a bottle of Fix + (£15.50) this is a multi-use product that you can use for setting your makeup or for spraying your eye shadow brushes to make shadows more pigmented, and I’ve been really enjoying using it so far. It gives a lovely slightly dewy finish when applied as a setting spray and takes away any powdery-ness from your face.
For my birthday I was also given a Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping which is a gorgeous peachy gold highlighter. This is from the lightness of being collection so it has the most gorgeous embossed design on it, it almost looks to pretty to use! I haven’t had a chance to use this yet but I already know I’m going to love it and be using it a lot in the next few months.

I've been wanting to get the Mac Fixplus for so long but never had the chance... Definitely need to get it the next time I'm in the Mac store. The Mineralise skin finish in perfect topping looks pretty too. Need to check out the Lightness of being collection as I've not heard off it before, I guess I'm missing out a lot. Btw thanks for sharing your little haul.

I LOVE MAC make up and you've picked up some of their best products, I love the studio fix foundation but my skin got a bit olier in my late teens so i had to give it up as it was slightly too heavy. Lovely paint pots the shades are stunning! I'm a new follower and i look forward to seeing you MAC collection grow!
