MAC KeepSakes Holiday Collection 2014

Thursday, 18 December 2014

I’ve always loved MAC, as a brand I feel they are great quality and I’m rarely disappointed with any of their products. So when I saw their limited edition holiday collections I knew I had to rush out and buy something. After a lot of deliberating I decided to buy the Plum Eyeshadow Palette from the Keepsakes collection. This little palette comes in the most adorable grey glitter packaging complete with pearl trimming. Inside there are 8 relatively small eyeshadows in various plum toned shades. When this came I was really excited as I’d never actually tried any MAC eyeshadows, and for £32 it wasn’t too bad of price. I’ve got to say, all of my expectations were completely let down. I really do hate writing bad reviews but I was really let down by this palette. The packaging and the colour selection are both gorgeous but the problem is with the pigmentation. The lighter colours barely show up at all, and although the darker colours show up better they are still quite chalky and hard to work with. The quality of these shadows really are what you’d expect from a really cheap palette, not from one that costs over £30. I have heard that a lot of the time with MAC, the holiday collections aren’t as good quality as their permanent line and I’d have to agree. Have any of you tried anything from this years holiday collection? Leave a comment below.

  1. I've never tried Mac eyeshadows but I'm not curious to... There are some amazing brands with cheaper prices and great quality! No need to spend money on Mac. This palette has great shades but it's a shame it doesn't worth the 30£... :/
