Ebay Makeup Brushes Review

Monday, 8 December 2014

Makeup brushes. Some people don’t see much need for them and would prefer to apply makeup with their fingers, I however have a slight obsession with them. I find that good makeup brushes can dramatically change the whole look of your makeup, the only downside is that quite often they can be pretty pricey. I mean look at MAC for instance, their face brushes will set you back on average £30 and while they are a good investment sometimes you just need a budget friendly alternative. For a while now I’d been eyeing up the Sigma Sigmax Collection which includes various different kabuki face brushes perfect for applying foundation and other base products. The only downside is that each brush costs around £15 on their own, and as it’s close to Christmas my money’s starting to get tighter. On a recent hunt through Ebay I came across lots of sellers selling makeup brush sets that looked very similar to the coveted Sigma ones, yet at a fraction of the price. I was at first very cautious but after reading a lot of positive reviews I decided to give them a try, and for only £7 including postage even if they weren’t the best I wouldn’t be wasting a lot of money. The set I ordered comes with 5 large face brushes that look a lot like the sigmax collection, and 5 smaller ‘mini’ versions which remind me a lot of the Sigma Precision Kit. After using these brushes a lot, and giving them a deep clean to see how they held up, I’ve got to say that I’m impressed. The brushes are all synthetic so are great for liquid and powder products, and like my other more pricey synthetic brushes they’re all really soft and haven’t shed at all! All of the brushes are really dense and do an amazing job at applying foundation flawlessly with no streaks. I really love that you get 5 smaller versions of the bigger brushes because they’re perfect for concealer and more detailed work around the face, they can even be used as blending brushes for the eyes. All in all I couldn’t recommend this set enough! If you’ve been thinking about trying out the Sigma brushes I’d defiantly try these first as they’re over 50% cheaper than just one single Sigma brush and you get 10 of them!
