As you all probably know by now MAC has finally released the infamous Heroine lipstick into their permenent collection.
As soon as it was released everyone went crazy over it and it sold out extremely fast, and for good reason!
Heroine is a gorgeous bright, true purple lipstick that's definetly a show turner.
Although it's a beautiful colour, it can definitely be a bit scary at first.
It may seem a bit daunting, but there's no need to be scared of looking like a clown, as it can easily be very wearable.
The key to making heroine wearable is to keep everything else simple.
As it's a bright, bold colour it has the tendency to wash you out.
This can easily be solved by using a bronzer such as the Sleek contour and highlight to warm up the face and contour. This will prevent you from looking too washed out and will add dimension to the face.
Unless you're really brave, it's probably best to keep it simple with the eyes and stick with neutral colours.
The Urban Decay Naked Basics pallete is perfect for this as it's full of neutral matte colours.
For this look I used w.o.s to highlight, naked 2 over the lid, faint in the crease, and crave in the outer corner. A look like this will add definition to the eyes while making the lips the main focus, which is key with a bold colour like heroine.
