Ever since giving birth to my son three months ago my skin has been, well awful. All the stress of being a new mum and all the sleepless nights has left my skin looking tired and dull, let's not even talk about those dark circles! So I thought it was about time I invested in some new base makeup to help combat it.
The first thing I decided to pick up is the YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation shade B10 a while ago the lady at the YSL tried this on me and I loved the dewy finish it gave on the skin which is perfect for my skin which is really dry at the minute, to fight the dryness I also bought Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation in Alabaster I've not heard much about this foundation and I haven't tried it yet but from swatching it feels extremely hydrating and lightweight.
On the more heavy coverage end of things I bought Mac ProLongwear Concealer NC15 as I've been lusting after it for ages, I also picked up the infamous Estée Lauder Doublewear In Ecru on first impression the shade seems a tad dark but it's nothing that won't work, I'm hoping to get lots of use out of this in the nighttime and on bad skin days.
I had also ordered Mac mineralize moisture foundation but selfridges messed up and sent me the time check lotion instead so now I've got to wait for them to sort it out but I can't wait to try it out.

Wednesday, 6 May 2015
“The MAC Wash & Dry Laundromat is open for business, so make a date with good, clean fun. The suds are rising with this breezy bronzing collection inspired by bright, fresh, hues perfect for a full spin or just a quick tumble. All in super-sleek packaging to set your cycle to chic!”
When it comes to Summer collections MAC always out do themselves, last summer we had the Alluring Aquatics collection which was to die for and had such gorgeous packaging.
Needless to say, the packaging for this collection definitely doesn’t disappoint.
Every item comes in a high shine rainbow looking exterior which really is beautiful and unique.
As soon as this collection was released I quickly picked up three things.
I picked up two lipsticks(as usual) in: Tumble Dry- A light peachy coral with a luster finish, and Steam Heat- A vivid yellow red with a satin finish.
I also picked up the gorgeous highlighter in Freshen up which is described as ‘A gradation from pastel banana, through to fuzzy peach and mid coral”.
All of the products are truly gorgeous and I can’t wait to start using them throughout the summer! What did you guys thing of this collection, was it a hit or a miss for you?
Nars: The Perfect Duo?
Monday, 20 April 2015
When it comes to makeup, getting your base right really can be a struggle. First of all you have to find the perfect shade to match your skin tone, which being extremely pale I find incredibly hard. Next you have to find the right coverage and the right finish to match your skin type.
All in all it can be a lengthy process and time after time I've bought foundations and concealers which have sat unused because they just weren't quite right.
Nars have always been a brand that consistently release bestselling products and when it comes to base products they're no exception. Nars sheer glow is raved about all over the beauty community. At first I was hesitant to try it as it costs £31 which is a lot of money to spend if I ended up not liking it. In the end I decided to just go for it and I'm glad I did!
I took a trip to Space NK so I could make sure I picked the right colour, I originally thought I would be the shade Siberia but it was far too yellow so I settled on Mont Blanc which was a perfect match. The formula is almost matte but has a subtle sheen to it, provides excellent full coverage and doesn't stick to any of my dry patches.
For as long as I can remember I've been looking for the perfect concealer to hide my dark circles and highlight my under eyes, but every one I've tried has been too dark.
Then along came the Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade chantilly. This concealer has quickly become my holy grail concealer.
It's the palest concealer I've ever seen which is perfect for highlighting, it's also SUPER pigmented and covers dark circles instantly. Paired together they really are the perfect duo and create a flawless base.

Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
Monday, 30 March 2015
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a morning person.
My morning always consists of me stumbling around with my eyes squinted half shut trying to get ready as quick as possible. Putting on my makeup in the morning is probably the only thing I enjoy, so I always look forward to trying out new products to make my mornings that little bit better.
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past year, mum sure you'll have heard of the infamous Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette.
The beauty community loves a good neutral palette and this was no exception, with everyone including me going crazy about it.
So when I heard Too Faced had released a sequel the Semi sweet chocolate bar palette I understandably rushed out to buy it. Unfortunately it hasn't been released in the UK yet but that didn't stop me and I took advantage of Sephora's world wide delivery.
All in all with delivery and taxes it came to around £45 which is about what you'd be paying for it in the UK anyway so I was really pleased.

Both the original and the Semi Sweet smell of deliciously sweet chocolate which is sure to get your mouth watering.
The palette comes in a chocolate bar shaped tin, and sticking to the chocolate theme all the shadows have chocolate themes names. The Semi sweet palette is marketed as a warmer, deeper version of the first palette.
At first glance I have to say that I was more excited about this palette than the first and could definetly see a lot of warm deep shades such as Peanut Butter and Caramel.
However, when looking at all the shades I soon realised that the palette actually is very neutral as it contains quite a few cooler shades too like Rum Rasin and Puddin.
Like all Too Faced shadows these shadows are all beautifully pigmented and creamy, the only let down shade for me is Pink Sugar which lacks pigmentation and is more like an eyeshadow topper. Overall I'm really impressed with this palette, and like the original I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it. Yes it may be another neutral palette, but you can never have enough right?
MAC Limited Edition Cinderella & Todelo Collections
Tuesday, 10 March 2015
Every single time MAC releases a new limited edition my
heart races. I’ve always been a huge lover of MAC makeup, and I can never
resist a limited edition item. What makes it even more exciting is when there’s
limited edition packaging! In the past few weeks MAC released a couple of
limited edition collections that have sent the beauty world crazy.
The first collection that caught my eye, and every other
beauty lovers, is the Cinderella
collection. As soon as I hear about the
upcoming release of this collection I knew that I had to have something from
it, I mean Disney and MAC are two of the things I love the most so anything
they’ve collaborated on has me instantly hooked. I’ve heard a few people complain about the packaging and
said that it’s boring but I think quite the opposite. To me the pale blue
almost metallic packaging the collection comes in captures Cinderella perfectly
and makes me instantly think of the gorgeous blue dress Cinderella wears. I also
LOVE the gold accents throughout the packaging as It makes it seem even more princess
like. As there were only two lipsticks released in the collection I decided to
pick them both up. Both lipsticks are lustre formulas, and although it’s not my
favourite, I find them great for everyday wear.
Free as a butterfly is described as a “semi-sheer golden nude” in all honesty when I swatched this lipstick I wasn’t impressed, it looked very sheer and like it would wash me out. However when I tried it on my lips I was pleasantly surprised. Because it is on the sheerer side it just gives an effortless, nude glossy finish to the lips that’s perfect to just throw on with any look. Royal ball is described as a “fleshy pink” this lipstick really is the colour I imagine a princess would wear. It’s a beautiful nude pink colour with a lovely sheen finish. After swatching I realised that MAC’s Hue is almost an exact dupe it’s just a slight bit pinker, so if you like this colour but missed out on this collection I’d give it a try. Unfortunately all of the Cinderella collection sold out within two hours of being released so neither of these are available any more.

| L/R Barbecue, Victoriana |
Although there were loads of gorgeous things to choose from including some beautiful ombre blushes, it was the lipsticks that really caught my eye *no surprises there* Although one of the colours I wanted was already sold out I did manage to pick up two lipsticks in the colours Barbecue and Victoriana.
Barbecue is described as a “vivid orange red” as soon as I saw this lipstick I knew it would be the perfect spring summer colour for when I wanted a really bold lip that wasn’t quite your classic red.
Victoriana is described as a “midtone pink red” although when swatching I can definitely see the pink undertones, once on my lips this colour pulls as a classic pillar box red which is really easy to pull off and super flattering.
Both lipsticks are a matte finish, however they’re a lot creamier than other matte lipsticks from matte and seem to glide on without being the slightest bit drying. At the moment you can still get both lipsticks from MAC’s website for £17.
Soap and Glory The Perfect Ten Eyeshadow Palette
Wednesday, 10 December 2014
As a brand I’ve always had a huge love of Soap and Glory.
For a while now I’ve loved an array of their different bath and body products
and have always found that they work amazingly well and always smell delicious!
As a lot of you may know, a year or two ago Soap and Glory released a makeup
line, I’ve only ever tried the Christmas face palette that they brought out
last year but I was really impressed. So when I was recently hunting around in
the gift section at Boots and stumbled across a Soap and Glory neutral eye
palette called The Perfect Ten I knew
it had to be mine. Like most girls I’m a lover of neutral eye shadow palettes, I
mean you can never have too many can you?
November Favourites
Tuesday, 2 December 2014
Hey guys! So I haven’t done a monthly favourites post in
ages, and when I say that I’m pretty sure my last one was nearly a year ago
*bad blogger award over here* so I thought it was definitely about time that I wrote
one, and I’m going to try to write these every month from now on.
