Baby's first photo shoot

Monday, 21 March 2016

There’s nothing better than sitting down, relaxing, and looking back at old photos. Photographs are a perfect way to capture a memory forever, and as babies grow fast I’ve made sure to take plenty of photos of Noah since he was born to document his growth.
Although iphone cameras are pretty good now and you can get some really good pictures, nothing can beat getting photographs taken by a professional.
When choosing a photographer -especially when babies and children are concerned- research is key. Firstly you want to look at their previous work and make sure it’s in a style you like, and secondly it’s good to look at reviews of how other people’s experience’s were.
Jules from Jules at Philter Photography created an amazing mini photoshoot for Noah.
Jules runs her studio from her home, and the second you arrive you immediately feel welcomed.
She really makes you feel like her home is yours, and you instantly feel relaxed!
When it comes to the photography itself she has a clear talent and is great at getting smiles (even out of slightly grumpy babies)
When it came to choosing which pictures to purchase it was a really hard decision as there were just so many great shots, from perfectly posed to the rare natural ones.
Overall I was really thrilled with Noah’s first photo experience, and even happier with how the pictures turned out. We will definitely be going to Jules again for any future photos and have actually planned to do a cake smash shoot for Noah’s birthday!

Noah's 11 Month Update

Friday, 26 February 2016

The past Eleven months have flew by in a fast, manic blur. It honestly seems like only yesterday that Noah was born and all of a sudden I was responsible for this little life and he was all mine.
So much has changed in the last few months, and I know it'll continue to change in the following months. There's one thing I'm sure of, babies grow up far too fast!
To try and focus on all the big changes I'll go through all the standard milestones first. Although I'd always been told "Oh as soon as they're six months old they'll be crawling around the house and there'll be no stopping them" in Noah's case this couldn't be further from the truth. Noah has never really showed much interest in all of the physical things like crawling and sitting up- He didn't sit up confidently on his own till about 9 months- At the minute he is still yet to crawl and he isn't showing any intentions of learning anytime soon. He has, however, started rolling everwhere so he is now getting into everything! He is also really good at standing with just a little bit of support which he's been practicing a lot lately.
Although he hasn't tried to crawl he loves babbling! Most days when I go to pick him up from nursery, I can hear him babbling away loudly or singing as soon as I enter the building. He's constantly trying to say new sounds and words, repeating them again and again until he gets the hang of it. At the moment his favourite words are dada, mama, nana and ta. In the last few weeks he has also begun to connect the words with the people as well which I'm so proud of. As always he's a really good eater and always devours his milk and meals with no hesitation. Every day when I look at him I see how he's starting to grow into an independent little boy and I know he's not going to be a baby much longer (although he'll always be my baby) and although it can be a bit emotional at times seeing him grow up, I'm so proud of the boy he's becoming.

Noah's Six Month Update

Saturday, 24 October 2015

Hi guys, before I even start I’d just like to apologise about how long it’s been since i’ve blogged! Honestly it’s been nearly three months which there’s just no excuse for, I’ve just been so busy with Noah and starting University that I just haven’t had the time, but I’m back now and I’m going to try to blog at least once a week from now on. Although it seems like just yesterday that Noah was born I now find myself sitting here writing his 6 month update! When people tell you that the time flies and they grow up fast they really aren't joking, every day Noah changes and learns new things and it’s already getting hard to remember that little tiny baby who did nothing but eat, cry, and sleep all day long.
Since I’ve started University Noah has started going to nursery three days a week. At first I was really nervous to leave him, I mean who wouldn’t be. Up until then I’d spent pretty much all day every day with him since he was born so it was a bit of a shock getting used to that no longer being the case. Although for a few weeks we had problems with him not really sleeping when he was at nursery (he’s always been difficult to get to sleep for anyone other than me) he’s now settled in fine and is really enjoying himself. I can honestly say that it’s the best feeling when I pick him up at the end of the day and as soon as he sees me his face lights up with a massive smile!

We started weaning about two weeks before he turned 6 months, just giving him little tastes of things. At first he wasn’t that interested in food, although he liked it he’d only one two or three spoons then be done. However it seemed like almost overnight he gained a massive appetite and he’s now eating three meals a day! So far he’s liked everything that he's tried, although he did pull the funniest face when he tried pears.
Just a couple of days ago Noah started being able to sit up on his own, although its only for short amounts of time. He has the strength and balance to sit up on his own, but he’d rather be kicking his legs and playing with his feet so that’s what he usually does! He now has his two bottom teeth, which luckily didn’t cause him any pain when coming through and literally popped through overnight.

Baby Noah's 4 month update

Tuesday, 28 July 2015

Looking back over the past few months time really has flew bye. It really does seem like just yesterday that I experienced one of the best days of my life as Noah was born. Although four months isn’t that long in the grand scheme of things, I really find it hard to imagine a time when Noah wasn’t a part of our lives. Already in such a short space of time he’s grew and changed so much. He’s gone from our wrinkly baby who was always screaming, to our smiley giggly baby who loves eating his fist! Noah’s personality is already shining through, he loves chewing and sucking anything that he can get his hands on, and he’s always grunting in frustration if there’s something he can’t quite do.
Every morning we’re woken up to him babbling away and making lots and lots of noise, but I don’t mind as every moment with him is special. Having a baby has honestly brought so much happiness into my life, more than I ever could have expected and I can’t wait to see how he develops and changes as time goes on.

New tattoo: Sailor Jerry Mermaid

Thursday, 4 June 2015

Some of you may or may not know that I love tattoos. I got my first tattoo three days after I turned 18 and I'd wanted one for as long as I can remember. I've always loved tattoos and see them as beautiful pieces of permanent artwork. For a while now I've wanted to have a mermaid tattoo; I've always loved mermaids and all the old sailor stories about mermaids luring ships into the rocks. After doing a lot of research I decided I wanted a sailor jerry traditional style mermaid on the bottom of my leg. Originally the writing on the tattoo said "forget me not" but I decided to change it and added a Mumford and sons lyric from The Cave "make your sirens call" as its one of my favourite songs and it fits with the mermaid. I decided to have my tattoo done by Greg Moore at Ghost House Collective. All in all it only took an hour and a half to do and I was really pleased with how it turned out.

I had a baby!

Monday, 6 April 2015

Hi guys, so I know it's been a bit quiet on here for the past couple of weeks but I had a good reason I promise! On the 31st of March 2015 at 18:33 me and Matt welcomed our gorgeous son Noah James Fearn to the world, weighing a hefty 8lbs 15ozs! As some of you may know I was due on the 18th of March but noah just wasn't ready to come out so I ended up going to get induced on the 30th. Eventually after 17 long hours of labour (and many doses of epidural) we finally got to meet our little boy. After waiting 9 months to meet him It really was a surreal experience, the instant love you feel when you first see your baby is impossible to explain. I really do feel blessed to have such a perfect little bundle to call my own. The past two weeks have really flew bye, I've been so lucky to have Matt here supporting me and helping with everything, I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. Both me and Noah are doing great, he's already gained tons of weight and now weighs 9lbs 9ozs!

WE'RE HAVING A BABY! (12 Weeks Pregnant)

Tuesday, 2 September 2014

For the past 8 weeks I’ve been dying to tell everyone, and now that I’m 12 weeks I finally can.
I’M PREGNANT!
Me and my fiancĂ© Matt are expecting our first baby and although it came as quite a surprise and wasn’t planned at all, everything seems to have fallen into place and we couldn’t be happier. I found out I was pregnant quite early at only 4 weeks so the past two months have killed me not being able to tell anyone, but now at last I can! Our beautiful baby is due March 18th (just before Easter) and we couldn’t be more excited.

Symptoms
Name any early pregnancy symptom and I can bet I’ve had it. Since about 6 weeks I’ve had awful morning sickness and I still do. It actually got to the point where I couldn’t keep any food down and the doctor had to prescribe me anti-sickness tablets. One unexpected symptom is that in the past week I’ve actually fainted twice which was quite scary as I’d never fainted before. I’ve also been suffering with headaches and the ever expected CONSTANT tiredness.
Weight gain/loss
Due to all my morning sickness I’ve actually lost 1st so far!
Maternity Clothes?
None yet (thankfully)
Stretch Marks
Unfortunately I’ve always been prone to stretch marks so I already have quite a fewL
Sleep
Can’t get enough of it! My boss actually let me have a nap for an hour at work the other week which was pretty cool.
What I Miss
Peanut butter, chorizo and salami, and feeling well and not sick.
Food Cravings/Aversions

I’ve pretty much been off all food but the foods I usually love like pasta I’ve had strong aversions to. I’ve not had many cravings other than potatoes and prawn cocktail crisps!

Where I've Been

Monday, 9 June 2014

Hey guys, so I know its been a really long time since I last blogged (nearly a month I think) and I thought you all deserved an explainaiton as to why I've gone so long without blogging so I decided to write this post to fill you all in.

Some of you may know that this past year I've been at college doing the final year of my A Levels.
Ever since I started A Levels really I had a feeling deep down that they weren't the right thing for me, but I kept at it because I thought it was what I was supposed to do. I even applied to Uni, mainly because I thought it was expected of me. But in the last couple of months I started to realise that I shouldn't live my life just doing what other people expect of me, and that I should do something that I enjoy.
So I decided to not go to Uni after the summer and start looking for an apprenticeship in ChildCare.
Ever since I can remember I've always loved being around kids and I've always wanted to work with them so I took the plunge and started applying for apprenticeships near me. Luckily I got a couple of interviews and was offered an apprenticeship in one of the nicest nurseries I've probably ever been to.
The only problem was that they wanted me to start right away, and although I'd finished college my exams weren't over till the end of June. The oppertunity was too good to pass up though so I took it.
I've never been happier with a descision I've made in my life. Although its quite a shock working full time I can honestly say I love it and I find it so fuffilling! *It helps that the children and staff are all lovely*

So, for the past two weeks I've been working 40 hours a week at my apprenticeship, 10 hours at the weekend for my Saturday job, and revising for and sitting my A level exams all at the same time!
Unfortunately this hasn't left me much time for blogging, but as soon as my exams are over in the next couple of weeks I'm going to go back to blogging as often as I can.

Girls Night Out | 1920's Swing Night!

Sunday, 6 April 2014

Usually I spend my Friday nights sitting at home in bed, curled up watching some American TV program.
This past Friday though, I actually made plans!

It was one of my close friend's birthdays and because she was finally turning 18 we all decided to go out and celebrate with some drinks.

The whole night was pretty last minute, and if I'm being honest at first I wasn't looking forward to it.
1. I was pretty much broke
2. I had nothing to wear
3. I had work in the morning

But, despite all those reasons it turned out to be a great night!
The first bar/club we stumbled in to happened to be having a 1920's themed swing night.
I don't know about you guys but I love everything to do with the 20's!
The place was bustling with energy, there was even a live jazz band playing.

When you entered the bar there was a large prison-esque line up background that you could take pictures in front of and *wait for it* fun props! You could have free feather headbands and bowties, which both looked very 20's. All-in-all it turned out to be an amazing night, I really felt like I'd been transported back in time and was at one of Gatsby's parties!

What did you guys get up to at the weekend?
Have you ever had any last minute plans that turned into amazing nights, or disasters?

I Got Engaged!: My First Lifestyle Post

Monday, 24 March 2014

I've been wanting to write my first lifestyle type post for a while now. Although I love writing about beauty I love reading lifestyle blogs because it gives people a better view of who you are.
So I thought instead of over-thinking it I'd just delve right in.

What better to start this new idea on but some exciting news?
I'M ENGAGED!

Ever since I was younger I always fantasised about getting married. I dreamt about meeting my Prince Charming (cheesy I know) finding someone who loved me for who I was, flaws and all.
I never imagined that I'd meet that person so soon in my life but I did.
Just over a month ago on valentines day my amazing boyfriend *well now fiancé eeek!* proposed.
Although I'm young I know I've found the person I want to spend my life with and I honestly couldn't be happier.
Hopefully this will be my first of many lifestyle posts to come,I hope you enjoyed it.

YouTube//Facing My Fear

Thursday, 13 March 2014

Back when I didn’t know a thing about make-up the first thing I did was head to YouTube. At the time I was a really shy, quiet person, if I’m being honest I didn’t have many friends and I just wanted to be pretty and girly like everyone else. I was sick of being tomboy-ish but I didn’t have the first clue about hair or make-up.

So, I started trawling YouTube watching tons of makeup and hair tutorials. One of the first Youtubers I watched was XSparkage, and I remember thinking how brave you must be to film videos of yourself and put them online where the whole world can see it. Sure it opens yourself up to so many positive things, but it also opens you up to a lot of criticism, and to someone who had a lot of self esteem issues that was terrifying.

As soon as I got really into beauty I knew I wanted to make a YouTube channel, but I was just too scared. One time I actually filmed a video and uploaded it, but when no-one really watched it I thought that it was rubbish so I took it down. I know now that it doesn’t matter how many views or subscribers you get, you should be doing it for yourself because it’s what you love to do.

So, in the next month, I’ve decided to jump in and start a YouTube channel. I know a lot of us fear being judged or not like but I think it’s time I got over my fear and dive right in!
What do you guys think? Have any of you recently started a YouTube channel, or been afraid to?
